The complaint came after an incident where Slaton and the staffer met up at his Austin apartment last weekend. The complaint, obtained by The Texas Tribune, was reported to the House General Investigating Committee by a legislative staffer. The account in the complaint was also corroborated by another source who works in the Capitol who had direct knowledge of the incident.Slaton allegedly called the intern after 10 p.m. on March 31 inviting her to his Austin condo, the complaint said.A source with direct knowledge of the incident told the Tribune that Slaton drank alcohol with the intern who was under 21 years old.Slaton, who was in the Capitol on Monday, declined to answer questions and referred to a statement put out earlier in the day by a criminal defense attorney he has retained.A representative f...What is it? TEXAS (KXAN) -- An unusual furry friend paid a visit to the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park last week and has perplexed visitors since. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department posted a night camera shot of the critter on its Facebook page Thursday, which has since garnered traction online."We're scratching our heads trying to identify this elusive creature. Is it a new species? An escapee from a nearby zoo? Or just a park ranger in disguise?" park officials said in the tongue-in-cheek post.Officials added the animal is likely an American badger, different from the honey badger that is native to Africa and Asia. "While Americans Badgers are not commonly seen in the valley (partly due to their nocturnal behavior), this is part of their natural range," the post concluded.‘Peter Pan,’ ‘Hairspray’ and the return of the smash ‘SIX’ among the shows in the Ordway’s new Broadway season

With Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa and Joey Gallo on the bench Monday afternoon — the former eventually came in to pinch hit and the latter two are dealing with day-to-day injuries — and White Sox ace Dylan Cease on the mound, the Twins were in for an uphill battle before the first pitch of Monday’s game was thrown. The Twins tried to claw their way up that hill, scratching together three runs against Cease — the last time they faced him, Cease came within one out of a no-hitter — but it wasn’t enough. The Twins fell into a hole in the fourth inning and never recovered, despite some gifted opportunities from the White Sox, in a 4-3 loss on Monday afternoon at Target Field.“Our bench obviously was pretty stacked today with good players that needed a day or two to get back to close to full strength,” manager Rocco Baldelli said. “Sometimes you come to the park and you have to find other ways to win.”But on Monday, they were unable to.After White Sox (5-6) third baseman Hanser Alber...City of Amsterdam presents Earth Day Cleanup

The lawsuit, filed recently in Fort Lauderdale, alleges the former Ohio State star was drugged and robbed by a man and three women in the hours before the April 9, 2022, accident. They say it happened at a Boca Raton hotel, at an upscale golf driving range, a bar and a nightclub. The lawsuit does not give any specifics. By TOM KRISHER and MATTHEW DALY (Associated Press)WASHINGTON — The Biden administration will propose strict new automobile pollution limits this week that would require at least 54% of new vehicles sold in the U.S. to be electric by 2030 and as many as two of every three by 2032, according to industry and environmental officials briefed on the plan. The proposed regulation, to be released Wednesday by the Environmental Protection Agency, would set greenhouse gas emissions limits for the 2027 through 2032 model years for passenger vehicles that would be more even stricter than goals the auto industry agreed to in 2021.The EPA will offer a range of options that the agency can select after a public comment period, the officials said. They asked not to be identified because the proposal hasn’t been made public. The proposed regulation isn’t expected to become final until next year.Environmental groups are applauding the ambitious numbers, which were first reported over the weekend ...Latest news
